About HairLossCosts
HairLossCosts is an independent site run by a small team that tracks what hair loss treatment really costs: hair transplants around the world, plus medications, supplements, devices and procedures like PRP. We publish each price with a link to where it came from and the date we checked it.
Who we are
We're an independent, self-funded publisher. We aren't owned by, funded by or affiliated with any clinic, clinic network, medical-travel agency, telehealth company, pharmacy or drug maker. We're not doctors and we don't present ourselves as medical experts. We're a price-research team, and everything on the site is written in that role. When we say “we”, we mean the HairLossCosts editorial team.
We started HairLossCosts because hair loss pricing is hard to compare. Clinics publish “from” prices in different currencies, packages bundle hotels and add-ons, telehealth plans bill in different ways, and most comparison sites don't show where their numbers come from. We wanted one place where every price can be checked.
What we do
- Clinic price database: 150 hair transplant prices from 29 countries, each with its source link and date.
- Cost by country: medians built from those prices, with sample sizes shown.
- Treatment prices: finasteride, minoxidil, dutasteride, topical combinations, supplements, laser devices, PRP, scalp micropigmentation and hair systems, converted to cost per month.
- Guides: plain-English explainers that only use numbers from our data or linked public sources.
- Coming next: a drug-trial tracker and a price newsletter.
How we find, convert and check every number is set out on our methodology page.
How we make money
The site is free to use. Right now there are no affiliate links and no paid listings on HairLossCosts. When that changes, the label will be on the page where it happens. These are the ways we fund it, and each one is always labelled where it appears:
- Affiliate links. Some links to pharmacies, telehealth services, product sellers or medical-travel services may pay us a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. A disclosure sits right next to them, not only in the footer.
- Featured listings (planned). Clinics may pay to be shown more prominently. Every paid row carries a visible Featured · paid label.
- Sponsorships (planned). Newsletter or site sponsors will be marked as sponsored.
What we don't do
- No medical advice. We compare prices. Whether a treatment or surgery is right for you is a decision for you and a licensed doctor (see our medical disclaimer).
- No paid rankings. Money never changes a price, a sort order, a country ranking, an evidence rating or whether a clinic or product appears.
- No clinic endorsements. Listing a clinic isn't a recommendation. We don't assess surgical quality or outcomes.
- No invented numbers. If a price isn't published or reported, we leave it blank instead of estimating it.
- No pay-to-remove. Clinics can't pay to edit or remove accurate prices or patient-reported quotes, or to have competitors removed.
- No fake reviews or testimonials. We don't publish incentivised reviews or before/after photos without the patient's written permission.
How to correct us
If a price is wrong, out of date or missing, tell us through our contact form and include a link to where the current price is published. We'll check it and update the row with the new source and date. Patients can submit a quote they received. Read more in our corrections policy, affiliate & featured-listing disclosure and privacy policy.
